Medicine Assisted Therapy

Medicine Assisted Therapy (MAT) is a combination treatment, where a prescription medicine is combined with psychotherapy to assist the therapeutic process. MAT is delivered in-person to qualified client at the Centre for Medicine Assisted Therapy. This booking link is only for people who have completed the CMAT Self Referral form.

Dr. Devon Christie (she/her) is a Vancouver, BC physician, therapist and psychedelic researcher.

Devon is a family physician (Pain Management Focus) and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (Relational Somatic Therapy and Internal Family Systems), with additional professional training in Integrative and Functional Medicine (IFMCP), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Interpersonal Mindfulness.

Devon is a recognized speaker, professional trainer and expert on the potential for incorporating psychedelic assisted therapies in an improved health care model for the future.

In my work with psychedelic-assisted therapy, I focus on medical assessments, Health Canada Special Access Program applications (psilocybin and MDMA) and treatment oversight, ensuring that patients receive safe, ethical, and evidence-based care. I strongly believe in the potential of these therapies to help people find healing, and I am committed to integrating them responsibly within the broader landscape of mental health and addictions treatment.

I also provide frontline addiction medicine and harm reduction in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where I currently serve as Medical Lead at Vancouver Coastal Health Downtown Eastside Connections Clinic and work as a staff physician at detox and Portland Hotel Society.
